Tren Urbano, Puerto Rico
Dr. Brierley served for more than
five years on the Geotechnical Consulting Board for the underground
related portions of the Tren Urbano Project in San Juan, Puerto
Rico, and participated in all aspects of planning, design and
geotechnical engineering for the Rio Piedras segment. Dr. Brierley
also assisted in resolving claims of differing site condition
for this project.

Saavedra - Moron Water Supply Project,
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Saavedra-Moron tunnel is part
of a major overhaul of all water supply and wastewater removal
facilities for the city of Buenos Aires, and consisted of 15,000
meters of 3.5 meter diameter tunnel excavated using a Herrenknecht
earth-pressure-balance TBM. Brierley Associates was retained to
evaluate tunneling conditions for the Saavadra-Moron Water Supply
Project.

Outfall Tunnel, Boston, MA
Brierley Associates serves as a
consultant to the MWRA concerning a major differing site conditions
claim for the Boston Outfall Tunnel project. Brierley Associates
has been concerned primarily with the rock mechanics and rock
properties aspects of the claim, and with water inflow into the
tunnel.

and cost estimates for the County of Monroe.

Hoover Dam Visitor's Center, Boulder
City, NV
Dr. Brierley was hired by PCL to
represent them in a claim of differing site conditions encountered
during construction of the Visitor's Center parking garage at
Hoover Dam. Dr. Brierley reviewed subsurface information as provided
by the Federal Government and testified in court in Denver on
PCL's behalf.

Bath Iron Works, Bath, ME
Dr. Brierley was asked to assist
the insurance carrier for a large design firm in resolving a contractual
dispute for a large design firm in resolving a contractual dispute
for a major offshore facility in Bath, ME. This claim was interesting
because it involved the design/build form of project procurement
and was related to alleged variation in top of rock elevations
below river level.

Dr. Brierley was retained by the
insurance carrier for a large design firm that had been sued by
the Project Owner for losses associated with alleged differing
site conditions. This case revolved around changes made during
construction and the impact of those changes on rock properties.
