Brierley Associates participates in numerous activities encouraging individual professional development, and is proud to be an active member in our local community. Here are some recent examples of what we are doing:

8th Annual ASCE - Syracuse Section Golf Scramble

Although the weather was not nearly as cooperative as years past, the 8th Annual ASCE - Syracuse Section Golf Scramble held June 26, 2009 was a huge success.  With two teams of golfers and an event organizer, Brierley Associates helped the Syracuse Section raise record funds and set a new record for the number of golfers participating. This year also marks a new milestone, the largest number of women golfers in the history of the tournament!  The proceeds from this event will go to fund several scholarships for talented CNY area engineering students and ASCE sponsorship of engineering activities for local grade school age children.

Rebuilding Together - Women's Bean Project

The ASCE Colorado Section, in partnership with Rebuilding Together *Metro Denver, is working to build a better world. Their mission is to repair the homes of low-income elderly and disabled homeowners so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence. Gary Brierley is leading the effort to recruit volunteers and donations on their behalf.

6th Annual ASCE - Syracuse Section Golf Scramble

A strong turn out brought good times for all attending the 6th Annual ASCE - Syracuse Section Golf Scramble, held June 22, 2007.  With two teams of golfers and an event organizer, Brierley Associates helped   the Section to raise  more funds  than years past to support our future engineers.   Proceeds of the event will go to several scholarships for talented CNY area engineering students and ASCE sponsorship of engineering activities for local grade school age children. 

Brierley Associates CSM AUA Student Chapter Scholarship

The Brierley Scholarship of $1,500.00 is awarded each year to a qualified graduate student who is a member of the Colorado School of Mines AUA Student Chapter. Awardees must meet several requirements, including:

• Areas of Specialty: the recipient should be studying in the area of development of underground space and the design of underground excavations.
• Level of Activity: the recipient must be a member of the AUA Student Chapter, and will actively participate in meetings and events.
• Financial Need: the recipient should be one who is in need of financial assistance.
