Mr. Zietlow has worked in geotechnical engineering for ten years and specializes in design of soil retention systems such as soil nail, tieback, and micropile walls and landslide stabilizations. He primarily provides design services for specialty contractors on design-build projects. He has also provided geotechnical designs for public and private owners, primarily on transportation and utility works. He has experience on a wide variety of projects across the Western and Midwestern United States. His responsibilities include retaining wall and shoring design, project management, geotechnical investigations and construction observation.
In addition to design engineering, Mr. Zietlow has planned and performed geotechnical investigations for retaining walls, landslides, tunnels, rock slopes, shoring, slurry walls and deep foundations. He has performed site investigations in hard and soft rock and colluvial, alluvial and glacial soils. Additionally, Mr. Zietlow has performed geotechnical and structural construction observation for retaining wall, landslide mitigation, tunnel, rock slope, slurry wall and deep foundation projects. Mr. Zietlow has performed and analyzed numerous soil nail, rock bolt and tieback load testing and pre-stressing tests. Mr. Zietlow has also installed and monitored geotechnical instrumentation for tunnels, land slides, shoring, and retaining and slurry walls.
