Jarek Trela, PhD
Jarek Trela is a project geologist with diverse experience in government, private consulting, and industrial sectors. Dr. Trela served as Economic Geologist at the Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS), where he led critical minerals assessments of carbonatite and lamprophyre deposits in the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District, directed a Department of Defense-funded rare earth element characterization program at Hicks Dome, and developed geospatial prospectivity mapping platforms for the U.S. Geological Survey’s Earth MRI initiative. Dr. Trela applies his expertise in geotechnical subsurface investigations, abandoned mine mitigation, subsidence assessment, and forensic claims investigation for underground construction projects. His technical background in structural geology, igneous petrology, and mineral exploration complements the firm’s full range of geotechnical and geological services.
