TUNNEL, GEO-STRUCTURAL DESIGN AND TRENCHLESS ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITY

Brierley Associates, a recognized leader in the design of tunnels, shafts, underground structures, excavation and slope support systems, and trenchless installations, is seeking a geo-structural engineer to join our Hawaii operations.  Preferred candidates would include civil/structural engineers with local experience in specific structural and/or geotechnical work, and existing experience compatible with the delivery of design work for large diameter tunnels and shafts in soft ground and rock; geo-structural design for heavy civil work such as excavation support, deep foundations, heavy lifts, falsework and custom formwork; and design/construction of HDD and microtunneling operations.  Candidates should possess a HI PE license (SE preferred), BS (MS preferred) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geological Engineering, or closely related engineering field, demonstrated design and construction experience, and entrepreneurial motivation to succeed and ultimately help lead the office.

Responsibilities include development and execution of new projects; project management; client management; representing the Company in professional, technical and business organizations; and providing technical assistance to other Brierley Associates offices.Compensation will be commensurate with experience and based upon individual and Company performance.   • Tunnel Engineer – Houston and/or Austin – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of large diameter tunnels and shafts in rock and soft ground.
  • Trenchless Engineer – Houston – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of HDD and microtunneling operations.
  • Geo-Structural Engineer – Austin – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of heavy civil work such as excavation support, deep foundations, heavy lifts, falsework and custom formwork.

Moraga, CA – Opportunity

GEOSTRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Brierley Associates, a nationally recognized leader in the design of tunnels, shafts, underground structures, and excavation support systems is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as an Entry Level Staff Engineer in our Moraga, CA office.

Candidates must possess a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. The ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation of geotechnical design parameters
  • Analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and wood structures
  • Foundation design
  • Layout and detailing of engineering drawings – Experience with CAD/BIM and Civil 3D a plus
  • Construction site visits to monitor progress and other elements of contract documents
  • Assist in client communications
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates
  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, and plans

Occasional travel to project sites should be expected.

A valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation is required.
