Dr. Eric Lindquist was named the Golden Beavers 2026 Engineering Service/Supply Award recipient. Based in California, The Beavers is a social, honorary organization formed, organized and managed by the construction companies and individuals who are or have engaged in heavy engineering construction.
Eric began his professional career at Jacobs Associates in 1994 where he met and worked for David Berti. In 2001 he and David co-founded Berti-Lindquist Consulting Engineers. In 2011, the firm was acquired by Brierley Associates. Upon joining Brierley, Eric quickly rose to the position of Director of Engineering; a position he held until 2024. He was elected as Brierley’s Chairman in 2020, and, in late 2024 was named President of the firm. The prodigious amount of design work that Eric has led while at Brierley includes the Bertha TBM Access Shaft for the Alaskan Way SR99 tunnel in Seattle, Washington, complex support of excavation systems utilized to extend the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system through Fremont and into San Jose on the Warm Springs and Silicon Valley BART Extension projects, the Central Subway Tunnels and Stations contracts in San Francisco, the LA Metro Gold Line, and the shoring and underpinning systems that were utilized during the renovation and seismic retrofit of the Salt Lake Temple.
“Eric has consistently challenged the boundaries of practice in our industry,” observed Barry Kannon of Malcolm Drilling. “But he is not only a good engineer, he is also a “Contractors” Engineer. We sometimes are in a position where we must deal with issues that are not black and white as they appear. In these situations where Eric’s intellect combines with his understanding and education to develop timely and efficient solutions to complex problems.”
“He has made significant contributions to infrastructure projects throughout the United States, and on all of these projects he has demonstrated an understanding of the importance of collaboration between the design engineer and the contractor to achieve common goals” declared William Edgerton of McMillen Jacobs Associates (now Delve Underground).
AJ McGinn, Brierley’s CEO stated, “This prestigious award acknowledges what we at Brierley Associates witness daily, Eric’s excellence and devotion to his craft and his selfless mentorship of others. Few people improve the lives of most that they meet. Eric is one of those special people who does. He deserves this honor, especially given that it has been bestowed upon him by his peers.”
Eric will receive the award at the Beavers’ 70th Annual Awards Dinner in January 2026.
