Beginning in 2012, as part of Omaha's Long Term Control Plan to reduce untreated discharges into the Missouri River, a three phase program was implemented at the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility (MRWRRF) to increase treatment capacity for wet weather flows.   These improvements, when combined with other projects that are being built to deliver additional wet weather flow to the plant, will result in a significant reduction in bacterial loading to the Missouri River.

NASTT No-Dig March 25-29, 2018

Palm Springs, CA


No-Dig is the largest Trenchless Technology conference in North America and is the showcase event for services, applications and knowledge sharing. Brierley Associates' Nick Strater will be presenting HDD Conductor Casing Installation by Auger Boring. Nick's talk is on Tuesday March 27th at 9:15 AM. The paper is co-authored by John Siebert, Aaron Enterprises, Inc. It provides real-life examples using the auger boring method to overcome difficult ground conditions, such as cobbles or boulders that challenge the use of a pneumatic hammer to install steel conductor casings.

The World Tunnel Congress (WTC) organized by the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA) is the world's leading tunneling event, bringing together tunnel and underground space experts and professionals from all around the world. WTC 2018 will be held in Dubai, UAE April 21-26, 2018. Brierley's Dr. Mohamed Gamal will presenting "Understanding the Response of FRC Liner Experiencing Large Deformation"  The paper will focus on a project in Seattle, WA that involved the construction of approximately 1,980-ft of EPB-TBM tunnel.



Brierley's Denver Office Welcomes Kyle Friedman

Brierley Associates welcomes Kyle Friedman to the Denver, Colorado office. Kyle earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering from University of Missouri - Columbia and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering. Prior to joining Brierley Associates, Mr. Friedman spent four years with a regional consulting firm in Columbia, Missouri.  Mr. Friedman's strengths include ground characterization, slope stability analysis, geotechnical design, remediation of karst-related features, and construction testing services.  Kyle's move to Denver has ensured his hobbies of hiking, skiing, and hunting can now be done close to home.
