Brierley Associates, a recognized leader in the design of tunnels, shafts, underground structures, and excavation support systems, is seeking qualified engineers to support our Texas operations:

  • Tunnel Engineer – Houston and/or Austin – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of large diameter tunnels and shafts in rock and soft ground.
  • Trenchless Engineer – Houston – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of HDD and microtunneling operations.
  • Geo-Structural Engineer – Austin – The successful candidate would possess specific design/construction expertise of heavy civil work such as excavation support, deep foundations, heavy lifts, falsework and custom formwork.

Candidates for each position must possess a TX PE license, BS (MS preferred) in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or closely related engineering field, and demonstrated design and construction experience.  Responsibilities include development and execution of new projects; project management; client management; representing the Company in professional, technical and business organizations; and providing technical assistance to other Brierley offices.  Knowledge of the TX markets and existing client relationships would be beneficial.  The compensation ranges for these positions are commensurate with experience and based upon individual and Company performance.  Brierley Associates offers a competitive benefit & compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long/short term disability plans & 401k.

CAD TECHNICIAN – CIVIL,STRUCTURAL AND GEOTECHNICAL

Brierley Associates, a nationally recognized leader in the design of tunnels, shafts, underground structures, and excavation support systems, is seeking qualified candidates who specialize in AutoDesk software products including; AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit.

Kanab, UT is the preferred office location for this position, but opportunities also exist in these office locations: Denver, CO, Syracuse, NY, Moraga, CA, and/or Austin, TX.

CAD Technicians work directly with dynamic teams of engineers and geologists to develop solutions that meet our clients’ needs and unique job-specific requirements. As a CAD Technician you will implement engineered designs and coordinate within all project boundaries and limitations. Work includes creating both 3D models and 2D drawing packages for heavy civil and underground construction projects. The candidate should be able to work in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the design and document production process.

Typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Generating 3D models in Civil 3D and Revit
  • Structural Detailing
  • Civil/Site Layout
  • Maintaining company standards while developing 2D construction drawings for use in the field
  • Improve/Enhance VDC workflows for AutoCAD Civil 3D with other similar BIM platforms including Revit.
  • Coordination with subconsultants and clients to manage multi-discipline drawing packages

Qualifications:

  • Degree in related discipline (Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering) is preferred, but not required.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in computer aided drafting with emphasis in structural detailing, civil/site layout , surface and grading creation, and 3D modeling
  • Experience and understanding of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit is preferred
  • Working knowledge of drawing production and standard construction techniques and principles
  • Experience with document management systems such as Bentley ProjectWise and MS SharePoint
  • Experience in other platforms and data exchange between BIM platforms is preferred

CIVIL SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Job Duties:  Oversee complex projects and ensure the success of projects. Prepare and monitor project budgets. Oversee project schedules and timely completion of projects. Serve as designated client contact on projects. Supervise and monitor client relationship strategies. Coordinate and approve pricing, estimating, scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects. Develop engineering agreements for projects within department. Prepare forecasts of workload for assigned staff. Develop construction cost estimates for projects within the department. Attend client meetings. Responsible for control of work-in process. Ensure accurate client billings. Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects. Direct and supervise activities of other engineers. Handle contract administration.

GEOSTRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Brierley Associates, a nationally recognized leader in the design of tunnels, shafts, underground structures, and excavation support systems is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as an Entry Level Staff Engineer in our Moraga, CA office.

Candidates must possess a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. The ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation of geotechnical design parameters
  • Analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and wood structures
  • Foundation design
  • Layout and detailing of engineering drawings – Experience with CAD/BIM and Civil 3D a plus
  • Construction site visits to monitor progress and other elements of contract documents
  • Assist in client communications
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates
  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, and plans

Occasional travel to project sites should be expected.

A valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation is required.
